Lawton Public Schools includes 26 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, two Headstart/Pre-K centers and one secondary alternative school. The average teacher has over 14 years experience and more than 50 are National Board certified. Seven elementary schools have received the U.S. Department of Education's prestigious Blue Ribbon Award. Four sites are designed as "model schools" through Great Expectations, a professional development program that stresses high expectations. Academic studies and a complete fine arts program are offered. Athletic programs are successful with many state championships and several graduates play in the NFL and MLB.
Cameron University, averaging 6000 students, is a 100 year old higher education institution under the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents. The University of Oklahoma, in 1964, began serving the educational needs of the U.S. Armed Forces. At Fort Sill, OU offers master's degree programs in Public Administration, International Relations, Human Relations, Economics and Communication. Courses are taught in an intensive format the includes pre-class preparation, pre- and post-class assignments plus two weekends of on-site instruction. Courses are taught by OU faculty and degrees can be earned in 18 to 24 months.
Webster University Fort Sill is a military-friendly institution with 30 years of experience educating service members and surrounding community members. Located at 43 of the largest military institutions int he country, Webster offers degree programs that can be completed in the classroom, online or a combination of both. The distinguished faculty, teaching in online classrooms, share the same credentials as those in traditional educational institutions and the academic standards are just as rigorous.
